Turkey Bowling DIY
If you’re like us, then you’re probably already starting to plan your Thanksgiving festivities! From the food, to the setting, to the decoration, to navigating potential family dramas, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. Add on how to keep the kiddos preoccupied, and you’ve got yourself quite the question!
Well, friends, look no further than Turkey Bowling! A fun, affordable, and easy DIY activity you can do with your children to celebrate the holiday.
Materials
- Plastic Cups
- Brown paint
- Paint brush
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Construction Paper (orange, red, green, yellow)
- Googly Eyes
- Clear tape or craft glue
- Tiny pumpkin (as round as possible!)
- Guaranteed to get a few laughs, and an easy costume to take off in case of spillage!
Instructions
- Place your plastic cup upside down on a flat surface
- Dip your paint brush in the brown paint and brush it around the outside of the cup until completely covered. Let sit for 1-2 hours until dry completely. (You can skip this step by buying brown plastic cups!)
- Using your orange construction paper, draw small triangles to create the turkey’s beak. Once drawn, cut them out using your scissors.
- Carefully tape or glue the turkey beak to the front of your cup.
- Next, cut out a squiggly worm shape from your red construction paper to create your turkey’s wattle and tape or glue it next to the beak.
- Select the perfect pair of googly eyes and tape or glue them just above the turkey’s beak.
- You can stop here if you’re happy with your birds! But if you’d like to give them some colorful feathers, then cut large feather shapes out of your remaining construction paper colors.
- Draw some feather details to the front, and then tape or glue them to the back of your cup to represent the turkey’s tail.
- Set up your turkey cups in a 10-pin bowling formation, and get your little pumpkin ready in hand.
- BOWL!
